Wisbech is a historic Georgian market town. Located in the county of Cambridgeshire, Wisbech is often known by it’s title of “The Capital of the Fens”.
The town itself has a small population which sits at around 20,000. Despite it’s small size, Wisbech has a thriving local community, and still holds true to it’s roots with it’s very popular Sunday market.
A town steeped in history, Wisbech dates back to the Saxon invasion. You can read more about the history of the town by visiting the Town History page. Visitors to the town will find a great wealth of places of historical interest, which include, but are not limited to: Wisbech Castle, Octavia Hill Birthplace Museum, Peckover House and the Wisbech & Fenland Museum.
Despite the small size of the town, there are many restaurants, pubs, places of interest, a theatre and our very own boutique cinema.
Educational facilities are excellent, with the town boasting the independent Wisbech Grammar School and the Thomas Clarkson Academy.
